Community Spotlight - February is CCF Month! The Caring Community Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that provides financial assistance to cancer patients in need throughout the Raleigh, Cary, Durham, and Chapel Hill areas of North Carolina. The foundation works with social workers and oncologists in area clinics and hospitals to identify needs and expeditiously assist cancer patients and their families with expenses such as rent, utilities, groceries, medicines, and other items that become even more difficult to manage in the face of cancer treatment. The foundation was created by a Cary, NC cancer survivor, and is run entirely by volunteers. All individual donations go directly to help patients with cancer. Caring Community Kids exists as an integral part of the Caring Community Foundation and was initiated to raise awareness in children of the need to help others in the community, particularly children and families who are dealing with cancer, and to raise awareness in the community about the work of this Foundation. The Caring Community Kids enables children to contribute artwork that may be transformed into quilts to be provided to local children with cancer and their families, providing support and “giving heart” to them during a difficult time. The work of the Caring Community Foundation has been featured in People Magazine, Beyond Magazine, The Washington Post, The Raleigh News and Observer, and Cary Living Magazine. To learn more, please visit www.CaringCommunityFoundation.org.
Don't forget that we're donating 5% of your purchases - every time you shop - to your favorite causes, too! To see if your favorite non-profit is on the list, or for more details, be sure to visit SwaggerGifts.com/community_giving_program. |
